Find a partner who…

“Find a partner who not only wants to love you right, but is also emotionally prepared to create a home.

Your natural attraction is just the beginning, you both know that the health of your relationship is directly linked to your personal growth and the healing of old reactive patterns.

Internally, you both feel ready to share the work of love and to build a culture of calm communication.

The way you laugh as one, and handle storms with gentleness helps you cultivate a nurturing environment.

You understand that you each have your own identity that moves like a river ~ always changing, expanding, and evolving, but the beauty of your love rests on the fact that you have both intentionally decided to flow together, side by side.”

Is it normal for love to change?  It’s completely normal for romantic relationships to change and evolve over time. All relationships go through different phases (like the infatuation-filled honeymoon phase) as well as ups and downs. It’s not only possible to cope with these changes, but also to embrace and even appreciate them. (source)

2019 Goodbyes & 2020’s Hellos

2019 Goodbyes & 2020’s Hellos

Somehow I am so excited 2019 is over. I have plenty to be grateful for, and lots to say good bye to.

2020's HellosI’d like to say goodbye to fear of the unknown.

2020’s hellos, I’d like to invite in curiosity of what lies ahead.

I want to let go of worrying about “not enough.”

I want to bring on noticing what I have, and bring on abundance. That it is okay to have a lot of connection, love, and even money (in theory).

I want to say, “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” to being so stressed.

I invite in noticing I am relaxed sometimes. When I’m not, I am really good at using the tools I teach in my office. I can breathe, do yoga, bring in positive thoughts, and a lot of the time, they work.

Goodbye 2019! I am really looking forward to 2020 being different.

Why Surrendering To Love Makes Relationships Work

Maya Kollman – Surrendering to Love

Is the answer to a successful relationship found in your ability to surrender to love? If it is, wow, that requires a lot of trust. Obviously we’re willing to try because we are driven to couple up, yet connecting is extremely difficult.

According to relationship guru Maya Kollman, “loving somebody, really loving somebody and surrendering to love forces us to face our deepest fears which are ‘they’ll leave me or they’ll die.’”

love adviceKollman says that love – that connection – is the key to our very survival as individuals.

She says we are really good at finding “the” partner who can fulfill us and help us actualize who we are.

Living with those same people, however, isn’t easy.

Kollman points out, “This is where a respectful and appropriate communication strategy is required” – a strategy she insists exists.

Surrendering to love is faith that the power of love can accomplish anything – even when you cannot foresee the outcome.

Instead of running from fear, instead of pushing it away or shoving it down, embrace it, and become intimate with it. Know it inside and outside.
